With the nightwatchman through Osnabrück
As the last night watchman in 1913 pulled his rounds through the city, a nearly 250 year-old tradition ended. Nevertheless, for some years nightwatchmen move again through the dark streets of the city. Certainly not to provide acontrolled night's rest, but to present Osnabrück in a quite special light – in the candle-light. „Armed" with small lanterns the representative of the law leads groups through the evening city. The end of the tour in an unusual experience: From the viewing platform of the Saint Marien Church a wonderful look comes up from a good 40-m height overthe nocturnal Osnabrück.

History on wheels

Museum of the Varus Battle Bramsche
Bramsche counts securely as a place of the famous Varus battle of the year 9 to Chr. which as the "Battle in the Teutoburger forest" entered in the history books. Artland tour
The fertility of agricultue lands made the Artland already centuries before the granary of the diocese Osnabrück and helped his farmers to considerable prosperity which they demonstrated under construction of splendid half-timbered farms. Till these days there are kept several hundred farms and single buildings which stand as typical Artland farm architecture under conservation of monuments and historic buildings.

Hermann's monument
The figur far surpasses the landscape.
